The SpongeBob DLC, which was just released is a part of this content upgrade that shows that there is still a lot to discover in this enormous and blocky universe.

Moreover, early in June, the core 1.19 patch for Minecraft was released. This particular update, known as The Wild Update, is notable for introducing players to ancient settlements in the Deep Dark biome along with a new friendly mob, a warden boss, frogs, muck, and boats with treasure chests.

Minecraft 119 The Wild Features

Here’s all the latest news and details on The Wild update including the 1.19 release date, new biomes, Minecraft mobs, features, and more

So you want to know about the Minecraft 1.19, The Wild update? First announced in October 2021, The Wild update is a major addition to the Java edition of the beloved sandbox game and it is now live.

The update includes a bunch of new features, from new biomes such as the Deep Dark and Mangrove swamp, new Minecraft mobs like The Warden and the allay mob, which won the Minecraft mob vote in 2021. The Minecraft 1.19 The Wild update also features new world generation such as ancient cities that spawn in the Deep Dark an area that only spawns underground. The Deep Dark also features new items like echo shards and disc fragments.

You can make clay or mud brinks thanks to the new Mud block, which you craft by mixing soil with water. There’s also a new enchantment, and Frogs will debut during this update. Heres everything we know about the Minecraft 1.19 release date, as well as a summary of the key features.

Sculk Sculk Catalysts And Sculk Shriekers

We’ve mentioned Sculk in other sections above, but here’s a brief breakdown if you skipped down to see what new blocks are coming. Sculk is a strange material found throughout the Deep Dark. As you move, vibrations generate and spread through Sculk blocks. If these vibrations ripple through to a Sculk Shrieker, it will emit a ‘shriek’. If there are multiple shrieks in succession, the Warden will emerge nearby and hunt down the players.

The tricky thing to manage when in the Deep Dark is the spread of Sculk as you explore. You will find Sculk Catalysts throughout the Deep Dark which, when a mob dies nearby, will cause Sculk to grow on the surrounding mobs. If you spend a long time underground exploring the Ancient Cities and collecting treasure, the spread of Sculk over time will make it increasingly difficult to survive.

What Will Minecraft Update Next? 1.17 To 1.19 Theme Potential

A spectator mode will be present in the new update since fans have been craving one for a long time. It was already present in Minecraft Now, which took place this April.

Players can see past and through blocks and fly freely with this spectator feature.

The Nether Portals spawn system has caused many problems for the players. Therefore, the devs are looking to change the mob spawn system, which seems trivial but can allow for safe farming methods.

A new Bedrock UI is also being implemented in the game. The recent versions have shown off a better UI for the Bedrock Edition, so the Devs will likely introduce a new UI in this update.

A potential Inventory update is also on the cards for the Minecraft 1.20 update. A recent survey on Minecraft Twitter indicates an Inventory overhaul is in the cards.

The last tweak we saw for the Inventory was in the 1.12 update, so we think its long overdue.

Beware of the Warden!

Thehighly anticipated Minecraft 1.19 update, predominantly known as ‘The Wild Update’, is finally set to release for all supported platforms later this week.

Java players have already had the chance to experience some of the new features coming in Minecraft’s 1.19 update, via numerous snapshots and pre-releases. But, whether you’re on the Bedrock or Java version of Minecraft, the final version is set to be released on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022.

The update will include a bunch of new blocks, biomes, mobs, items, and more. But, most importantly, players need to beware of the Warden, the first fully blind mob in Minecraft that detects players based on movements, vibrations, and smell. The Warden can be found in the newest underground biome known as the ‘Deep Dark’.

Mangrove Trees And Mangrove Swamp Biome

The Wild will feature a major swamp update including mangrove trees. Mangrove trees will grow from propagules which can be planted underwater or on land, and theyll grow up into big masses of root blocks with vines hanging down around them. You can harvest them for a new wood type. Youll also find full-on mangrove swamp biomes.

Minecraft The Wild Update: New Biome And Mobs

Outside of the brand new enemy The Warden, Minecraft is adding a hefty amount of new features to the 1.19 update. These include:

  • Mangrove Swamp biome
  • The biggest addition is an entirely new biome which will spawn all the new mobs like frogs and tadpoles. This biome will also be where you find the new blocks listed below.
  • Frog and tadpole mobs
  • These will begin to spawn in swamps and the new variant, mangrove swamps.
  • The big bad of this particular update, The Warden requires you to be sneaky to avoid its attacks that can land massive damage.

New Mobs In Minecraft 120

Badgers

Mojang currently has three games within the Minecraft franchise, including Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons, and the upcoming Minecraft Legends. Even though the games arent directly linked, the studio is known for porting mobs from one game to another. Expanding on that, we expect the badger mob, featured in the gameplay trailer of Minecraft Legends, to reach the main Minecraft game as well.

Unlike every other mob in the trailer, the badger has no counterpart in the main game. Moreover, it even fits the overall theme of a potential savanna update. But since there is no official announcement of the same, its best to consider the badger as a cute rumor rather than an upcoming addition.

Apart from the badger, we can expand the possibilities based on the expected biomes that might be added in Minecraft 1.20. So we might see the following mobs in the game with the next update:

Please note that other than the fireflies, none of the mobs have any official in-game rendition. Moreover, if you want to know why fireflies were removed from the Minecraft 1.19 update, check out the linked article.

Minecraft: What Is Known About The Wild Update

In an attempt to improve the wild places in Minecraft’s worlds, Mojang is taking steps to improve life in the wilderness. New mangrove swamp biomes feature deeply-rooted mangrove trees and murky waters to keep them healthy.

Tadpoles hatch and grow into frogs, which will have multiple variations depending on where they hatch.

Mud is also a topic of focus in The Wild Update, becoming its own block. It can be made using a water bottle on a dirt block and can even be dried out into clay by being filtered through dripstone. This creates the first source of renewable clay since Minecraft’s inception.

Mud can even be formed into bricks, providing a new block type that will likely be used at length in shelters and homes.

Likely the biggest draw in the upcoming Minecraft update is the implementation of the once-delayed deep dark biome. This underground biome is oddly devoid of most life and reaches deep into the lowest layers in all of Minecraft.

A strange material known as sculk lines across many places, vibrating to track the movements and noises of players. Sprawling ancient cities can be found in the deep dark and likely have plenty of loot available.

However, players will want to be careful as setting off a sculk shrieker block may cause a pulsing blackout in the biome. Worse, it could upset the habitat of the deep dark biome enough, and the virtually invulnerable boss mob known as the Warden may appear to hunt them down.

There Will Be A Mob Vote

Another exciting feature of the Live event, the mob vote, was revealed in the trailer video. For many years, Mojang has been giving the community some control over which feature gets added to the next update via the mob vote. This includes mobs, biomes, and more.

It has been confirmed that Mojang will be bringing back the mob vote system where players can choose which mob gets added to the game with the Minecraft 1.20 update.

However, unlike every previous mob vote, this vote will not be conducted on Twitter. This time, Mojang is innovating and adding a way to vote for the mob from inside the game itself. Players will be able to enter a special multiplayer area where they will be able to vote for the new mob.

Additionally, Mojang will also be updating the official game launcher to feature the mob vote there as well. This way, only those who actually own and play the game will be able to vote for the new mobs.

The Mangrove Swamp Biome

This is another new biome added to the game and it is a pristine-looking area where players will find tadpoles, frogs and items like Mangrove Trees, Leaves, Logs, Planks, Propagule, Logs, Roots, Moss Carpets, and Propagules.

The biome is also home to Frog, another mob added in the update. They are a passive mob that can be grown from Tadpoles, which are another new addition to the game. Frogs give out Froglight every time they eat a magma cube. There are three variants of Froglight, which are Ochre , Pearlescent , and Verdant Froglights.

Mud has also been added to the game. It is found in the Mangrove Biome. Players can also create mud using water bottles on dirt. Mud can be used to make packed mud and mud bricks.

A third mob called Allay has also been introduced in the Minecraft 1.19 update. Allay is a friendly mob that will help the player in seeking the same type of dropped item that it was given. It will only stop looking for the item once it has been taken away from it.

Minecraft 119 New Content: New Biomes And The Warden

16 NEW Features Coming in the Minecraft 1.20 Update!

In an official announcement from Mojang, we learned a little bit about what to expect from the Minecraft 1.19 update before it officially released. For starters, there are two new Overworld biomes called the Deep Dark and Mangrove Swamp.

As the name implies, the Deep Dark can be found in an underground area below the surface. In the Deep Dark, youll be able to find new items like sculk blocks. But watch out while youre exploring, because you might run into a new mob called the Shrieker. Youll have four shrieks to escape it, or youll come face to face with The Warden.

The other new biome in the Minecraft 1.19 The Wild update is Mangrove Swamp. This is a much more calming biome compared to the Deep Dark and is full of lots of foliage and the new mangrove trees. These massive trees will introduce a new type of wood to Minecraft as well as the mud block. Naturally, youll also be able to craft a mud block with dirt and water.

In addition to the new biomes, The Wilds update also introduces three new mobs. Perhaps the biggest is the highly anticipated Warden, which is a challenge unlike any have ever seen, according to Mojang. The Warden resides in the Deep Dark biome and you can only escape it by using your stealth skills.
