Running Minecraft On A Chromebook
Today were going to set up Minecraft on a $170 Chromebook: its the cheapest way Ive found to get my kids up and running with the Java edition of Minecraft. Given that Chromebooks run ChromeOS, how to get this done is not immediately obvious, and we do need to make some tweaks to get the game to perform sufficiently.
If youre willing to spend more money, this $260 Chromebook will perform a bit better. If you want to spend even more, look for a beefier CPU and more memory, as those will be the primary bottlenecks for running Minecraft.
We will be using a combination of Chromes Developer mode, a special OS environment configurator called crouton, Ubuntu, the XFCE window manager, Java, Minecraft itself, and a graphics optimizer called Optifine.

How Do You Download Minecraft: Education Edition For Chromebooks

If youre using an unmanaged Chromebook, head to the Google Play Store. Once there, search for Minecraft: Education Edition in the search bar and select Install. Wait for the game to download, and youll be off and running. Just remember that you need your Office 365 account to get started.

No tricks, no hacks. Just good ole’ Linux

Ah, the age-old question. Can I play Minecraft on my Chromebook? Unfortunately, the answer isnt as simple as Yes or No. If youre a student and you have a Microsoft Office 365 EDU account, youre good to go. You simply have to activate the Play Store on your Chromebook and install the Android version of Minecraft: Education Edition. From there, log in with your Microsoft credentials and go to town. This particular version is very similar to the classic Bedrock build of Minecraft but has some added features geared specifically towards the classroom.
If you dont have an Office 365 EDU account, there are some workarounds that will allow you to play Minecraft so long as you own the full Android version from the Play Store. This involves installing Flatpak via Linux on your Chromebook and running a package that is essentially the middle-man between Linux and the Android APK of Minecraft. Its a little hacky, doesnt run great, and isnt officially supported by Mojang. Still, it works if you prefer to use the Android version of Minecraft.

The Battlefield 2042 community has been extremely critical of the game, especially in its map design. However, the devs arent afraid to poke fun at themselves, including a new charm around a common complaint in the Season 2 update.
While Battlefield 2042 got off to an especially buggy start, map design was a common complaint amongst the community. They didnt like how open and large the maps were, and it didnt take long to notice a trend shipping containers.
Shipping containers can be found in almost every Battlefield 2042 map and almost the entirety of Manifest is made up of them. The player base has been memeing it since launch, so DICE joined in on the fun by adding a new charm with the Season 2 update.
There have been a ton of jokes surrounding Battlefield 2042s shipping containers, and a new wave came in when Season 2s Stranded map was announced. With the action taking place around a crashed cargo ship, the middle is entirely filled with shipping containers.
